Marcelo, as I promised to write, my life experience. “Thoughts that become aspirations, aspirations transformed to plans, and plans into my life.” My name is Luis Auad; I am originally from Sao Paulo. My mom is from Bolivia, when I was a teenager or even a toddler; I felt curiosity in learning my mother’s culture and language in deep. In 1996, I moved to Santa Cruz, Bolivia when I was 14 years old, with the idea of learn Spanish and graduate from a High School there. In November 1999, I graduated from high school in Bolivia. After that, I was in between of my most difficult choices of my life… what to study and where. My hometown Sao Paulo, had a great choices definitely, but some universities in Bolivia was suitable too. After many personal brainstorms, I decided to stay in Bolivia. In early 2000, I moved to La Paz, where the best university in the country was established, PUC de Bolivia at La Paz. In 2004, in my last year of my Business Licentiate degree, I decided that I wanted to pursue Economics Licentiate degree as well, expanding my knowledge and analytical tools. During my research thesis in Finance applied to Bolivian Stock Exchange, I learn that New York Stock exchange and English was extremely powerful in the world. With this said, I decided that I wanted to explore and go into deep with my English language skills, but into a professional perspective. I always believe, I still strongly believe, the better way to learn a language is exploring this beautiful world and its diverse cultures. As, I result of my past experience with Spanish and Bolivia, and my belief, I decided to move to USA. In May 2006, I transfer all my credit from Economics school to a Florida International University, in Miami. I graduated from my “Bachelor of Arts in Economics” in May 2007. I have working in USA since 2007. When kid, I always grew with this idea that a Master degree or a Doctoral degree in USA is so far away and probably unachievable. Finally, in August 2010, I graduated from my Master’s degree in Finance, proving to myself that desire can be achievable when you work for it. However, I still want to do another Master’s, the area/field is still undecided. Everybody, you read this, just keep it up! Enjoy! Taste the diversity of this world! Best regards to everybody down there in Brazil. Sincerely, Luis Auad.
